What makes a blue pearl a 'B' grade?
A 'B' grade blue pearl although still a good usable pearl, does not display the same characteristics as a 'Gem' and an 'A' grade pearl.
The surface of a 'B' grade pearl is mostly not smooth and can be visibly textured. The lustre of a 'B' grade pearl can be mirror to soft. There may be some surface roughness and the colour may not be as vibrant or eye-catching as 'Gem' or 'A' grade pearls.
